Frequently Asked Questions

Product specific questions

What are the care instructions for your products?
All Beaglewear products should be dry cleaned only, no steam. Repeated dry cleaning will decrease the Teflon treatments ability to repel water. In addition wool products should not be hung or placed near direct heat (i.e. woodstove) as the wool may shrink.

What is the difference between your Tracker, Stalker and Extreme models? The Tracker line is Beagle's lightest weight. The coats and pants don't have a windproof barrier and aren't lined with insulation. They are lightweight and quiet and made for high output activity levels. The Stalker line is Beagle's mid-weight model. Beagle added a breathable membrane to the pants and coats, which stops wind and water from passing through. They are not lined with insulation. The Stalker line is made for colder and harsher conditions. The Extreme coat is Beagle's heaviest weight coat (the Extreme weight only comes in a coat). It includes the breathable membrane layer, which stops wind and water from passing through. It also has Thermalite insulation for the coldest of conditions.See the right weight.

How is Beagle wool outerwear different from other wool apparel?Beagle's wool outerwear starts with tight weave, 22 oz. Melton wool that is then treated with high tech, innovative materials that make it different than anything else you've ever experienced.

  • Treatment #1 - DuPont Teflon Fabric Protector - It provides a stain and water repellent barrier. Stains wipe off easily, and wool wont absorb moisture. The fabric protector is found on all Tracker, Stalker and Extreme garments, as well as all accessories. Now, with Beagle, wool will keep you warm, even when it's wet outside! Beagle outerwear doesn't get wet!
  • Treatment #2 - Fabtex 5x membrane - A thin layer of breathable film is added to most garments, which stops wind and water from passing through, keeping you warmer and drier than simple wool. The membrane layer is added to all Stalker and Extreme garments, as well as all of the accessories.
Is Beagle outerwear more expensive than other wool garments on the market? Beagle wool clothing isn't the most expensive on the market, nor is it the cheapest. It is quality outerwear, hand-crafted in the USA. Each garment has been carefully designed to include the finest of details, making them the most functional outdoor garments on the market. Plus, Beagle outerwear is so effective in keeping you warm and comfortable in the harshest of conditions, you need not purchase additional layers. All you need is Beagle (see Beagle vs. Layering). So, once you've purchased Beagle apparel, you'll realize that you've made a wise investment.
